Lazy Sunday Hazelnut French Toast

4 farm fresh eggs

2 cups farm fresh whole milk

1/4 cup raw cane sugar, dissolved in milk

1/8-1/4 teaspoon hazelnut extract (or vanilla)

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

6 slices Baklava Couture Village bread, sliced thick approx 1"

good quality, real butter for skillet

good quality, real maple syrup


in a large bowl, whisk together first 5 ingredients.  heat large skillet on medium-high and melt desired amount of butter to pan-fry.  while skillet is warming up, dunk bread slices in egg mixture, turning to absorb and coat well on each side.  place bread on hot skillet and let cook until browned, lowering heat if needed.  repeat on other side.  serve with maple syrup.
